Rebels rock Lightning 10-0 - Nisswa wins over Aitkin by forfeit

After advancing past Aitkin via forfeit on Saturday, July 15, the Lightning were shut out by undefeated Fort Ripley Rebels in a 10-0 loss Sunday, July 16.

The Rebels blanked the Lightning in seven innings on the back of a one-hit effort by pitchers Brett Kramer and Logan Kalis.

The Rebels scored four runs in the second inning - on five hits and a sacrifice fly - off Lightning pitcher Kyle Schaible, who took the loss for Nisswa in 1.2 innings of work on the mound.

Fort Ripley followed that with another four runs in the fourth inning, this time against Lightning pitcher Luke Schumer.

In the seventh inning, the Rebels picked up two more runs off Nisswa's Aaron Jenkins.

The Lightning will now face the Aitkin Steam at home on Saturday, July 22, to keep their season alive. If they win, they will have a rematch with Fort Ripley on Sunday, July 23.
