Skyview volleyball defeats Homer in 3

The Skyview volleyball squad swept host Homer 25-14, 25-13 and 25-23 in Northern Lights Conference play Tuesday.

Marlee Cunningham paced the Panthers (7-2 overall, 3-1 NLC) with nine kills and five blocks. Coach Sheila Kupferschmid said Cunningham hit the ball with accuracy all evening.

"She continues to improve. The more she plays, the better she gets. That's something you want to see in a player," Kupferschmid said. "You don't want to see players plateau, and she's not, She's improving."

Amanda McDowell had 10 kills, six digs, two blocks and five service points for Skyview, which also received six kills and 11 service points from Holly Ramsell. Karlie Self added six digs, while Mary Hauptman chipped in with five digs,

"It's always nice to get a region win on the road," Kupferschmid said. "Those are hard to come by - they are tough."

Skyview visits Grace Christian for the Grizzly Invite on Friday and Saturday.
