Reader Opinion: Thanks to the community

There are absolutely no words to express to the community our thanks to everyone who prayed, supported, encouraged, visited, hugged, phoned, sent cards and a million other things that have been done during Wheaties' illness and his passing away. Thank you to Pete Mohs for your phone calls, visits to Wheaties, articles in the newspapers and for speaking at his funeral. Thanks to Nancy Vogt for the emails and calls and encouragement. To Pequot Lakes School staff Lori Westlund, Marc Helmrich, Chris Lindholm, and Mike Renford that did so much so Wheaties' service could be at the school. Thank you to Marc Helmrich, Garry Grewe, Pete Mohs and John Wallin for speaking at his service. The words of the four speakers touched our hearts and would have been music to Wheaties' ears. Thank you to Pastor Jim Rogers for being there for us during Wheaties' last two days and for conducting the funeral service. Thank you to Jeff DeVaney for his beautiful rendition of "How Great Thou Art." Thank you to Joe Simenstad for putting together a wonderful slide show of Wheaties' life in pictures and for the touching slide show during the song "Daddy's Hands" that left not a dry eye in the gym. Thank you to each and every one of you that visited him and attended the visitation and funeral and also for all the flowers, cards and memorial gifts. Thank you to Care & Share Ministry Team of the Christ Community Church for the wonderful lunch following the interment and to Gloria Benzie, our nieces and nephew, Leah Cain and Amanda Peka for supplying food for the lunch. The outpouring of love and support of this entire community was a huge tribute to the legacy Wayne "Wheaties" Wallin left. We are eternally grateful. God Bless you all!
