Replace federal dollars with state oil and gas ownership

Email News Alerts

As Alaskans we've been told for years that our state's economy is like a three-legged stool, with one of the legs being Federal money.

As Alaskans we have to "Just Say No" to Federal dollars. By not groveling for their handouts we, as a state can take back control of our citizens welfare and future.

The way to replace the Federal money is simple -- evict all oil companies from our state! All equipment is then the property of "Citizen's of Alaska Gas & Oil."

By having control of our resources our priorities would change. It's a real black-eye to Alaskans when Citgo a.k.a. Chavez helps our villages when we have what's needed right here. All of our citizens fuel and natural gas needs would be subsidized ($1.00 gal.). When tourists arrive their fuel costs would be double, which would help everyone in our tourism-related industries.

The profits would accelerate R & D and the opening of ANWR. Education, Medical, village sanitation and whatever else helps our citizens would be squared away.

As for out-of-state workers, you're more than welcome to keep working here for a flat tax (say 40 percent).

As I said before a stool has three legs. You can sit there and stagnate or cut a leg out. Remember, two legs make a ladder which we, as Alaskan citizens can use to climb up and improve our state and our citizens lives.
