Betty Lockwood passed away peacefully of natural causes November 2, 2017. Betty was born May 1st, 1928, to Dolly and James Alderman in Brainerd, Minnesota. She earned a B.A. in psychology from the University of Minnesota and shortly after married Robert Lockwood in Brainerd, Minnesota in 1950. They raised their three children together in Eugene until Bob's death in 1963. Betty continued as a single mom until the kids left home. During her career days Betty lived and worked in various places such as Eugene, Oregon, Scottsdale, Arizona, Honolulu, Hawaii, and Ojai, California. Betty's favorite and last job was working as the graduate student secretary in the Computer Science Department for the University of Oregon. During that time she met her second husband, Tom Booth, who after her retirement took her traveling the world, primarily in the South Seas. Betty enjoyed bridge, entertaining friends and family, crossword puzzles, and visiting with her children. Betty was preceded in death by her son Stephen, husband Bob Lockwood, and her second husband Tom Booth, as well as her parents, and older brothers Robert and James. Those that survive her include her children Kathy (and Eric) Nelson, Craig (and Deborah) Lockwood, her grandchildren Emily Lockwood, Stephen Lockwood, Sean Nelson, and many special friends.
