Wallace "Wally" Ohman

Wallace R. Ohman, formerly of Baxter, MN, passed away at the age of 90 on Sept. 25, 2017 in Milaca, MN. Born March 5, 1927 to Harold and Edith Ohman in Bertha, MN. He attended school in Deer Creek and was drafted into the US Army in 1945. He was honorably discharged two years later and returned home to work on the family farm. Wally was married to Betty Christensen in 1952 and together they were blessed with four children. Following their divorce, he married Agnes Olson in 1968. Wally worked as a diesel mechanic at Ford garages in MN, WY, SD, and WI before retiring in 1985 to Baxter, MN. In 2015 Wally and Aggie moved to Country Meadows Assisted Living in Milaca, MN. Wally is survived by his children Doug (Lyn) Ohman, Foreston, MN; Karen (Kent) Lovelace, Grand Forks, ND; Duane (Elaine) Ohman, Avon, MN; Kathy Ohman, Foreston, MN; step-daughter Pat Zierke, Duluth, MN; siblings Phyllis (Jim) Carpenter and Jerry (Vera) Ohman. Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Agnes; sister, Charlotte Hagen; and step-son Ronald Olson.

Memorial service to be held at Milaca Evangelical Free Church at 11:00 a.m. on October 17, 2017, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment at Camp Ripley with full military honors, 3:00 pm. Memorials preferred to Milaca Elim Country Meadows.
