CLC board names year's Outstanding Educator
The Central Lakes College Board of Trustees has selected their Outstanding Educator for the 2017-18 school year: Paul Hofmann.
College President Hara Charlier lauded Hofmann, a marine and small engine instructor, as a teacher who "shows the highest commitment for preparing his students."
"He works one-on-one with each student, inspiring them to problem solve, apply knowledge and give back to the community," Charlier stated in a news release. "He is a role model to his students and a leader to his peers."
"It's an honor to be nominated and selected by my peers when there are so many outstanding educators at CLC," Hofmann stated in the release. "My philosophy of teaching was embedded in me while going to college in my youth: 'Don't teach how you were taught. Teach how you wish you were taught.'"
Hofmann will represent Central Lakes College at the Minnesota Board of Trustees Award ceremony in St. Paul later this spring. He will also be under consideration for Minnesota State Board of Trustees Educator of the Year.
Previous Central Lakes College educators to receive this honor include Darci Goeden, Betsy Picciano, Adam Marcotte and Kari Frisch.
