In the winter, drivers may forget that some laws are dependent on common sense, safety and caution. For example, speed limits and vehicle extraction from ditches and medians. "The speed might be listed, for example from Nisswa north, at 65 miles per hour. During ice conditions and snow storms there are certain circumstances where 65 miles per hour, even though posted, would be breaking the law and could result in action," said Crow Wing County Sheriff's Capt. Scott Goddard.
