CLC to host TEDx streaming for the public
Central Lakes College will host a live-streaming party on campus during TEDxGullLake, which will be held Saturday, April 22, at Madden's on Gull Lake. The public is invited to attend the live-stream for free.
"We're trying to make these talks available to everyone in the region," said Kate Hunt, director of TEDxGullLake. "The wider these stories and ideas can be spread, the greater the conversation that can take place."
All 14 speakers and performers who will be live at TEDxGullLake can be seen on screen at the CLC party. CLC will host the TEDx talks, along with snacks, refreshments and friendly discussion. Curt Nielsen will serve as master of ceremonies at CLC. Streaming will be held in a comfortable atmosphere in Room E203, near the northeast entrance of the college (Door 6).
The TEDx talks begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, with three sessions running from 9-10:25 a.m., 10:50 a.m. to noon, and 1:30-3:10 p.m. A light snack will be served.
The TEDx speakers will cover a wide variety of topics, each of them in about 15 minutes or less. The event is licensed by the international TED Conference and is patterned after the famous TED Talks. TED is an acronym for Technology, Entertainment, and Design, although TED Talks have grown to include all sciences, human behavior, public policy, and any topic that informs and inspires.
