Nisswa Elementary School third-graders staged “Jack and the Beanstalk” in two showings Friday, Feb. 14, with two touring actors from Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre.

Meghan Taylor and Greg Stowers of Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre spent the week working with the third-graders in various roles. Students performed the play in the afternoon for their fellow students, and in the evening for family and friends.

Prairie Fire tours year-round to more than 200 communities to provide a week-long professional theatrical experience of classic children’s tales. The Five Wings Arts Council and Nisswa PTO provided a grant award to cover expenses for this artist residency. Prairie Fire has staged a play with Nisswa third-graders for the past several years.
