Icy road leads to crash in Motley

A driver and his passenger were injured when the Ford pickup truck they were in crashed after hitting an ice patch.

MOTLEY—A driver and his passenger were injured when the Ford pickup truck they were in crashed after hitting an ice patch.

The crash occurred at 9:03 p.m. Saturday on Highway 10, near 385th Street in Motley.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported the pickup hit an ice patch, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle rolled through the median, coming to a rest in the northbound lanes of Highway 10.

The driver, Nick P. Grbich, 42, and his passenger, Amy. R. Grbich, 38, both of St. Cloud, were transported to Lakewood Health System in Staples for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Staples Police Department and the Morrison County Sheriff's Office assisted the state patrol at the scene.
