Driver suffers medical issue, sends car into guardrail

A 60-year-old Pequot Lakes man died after suffering medical issues while driving Wednesday and crashing his vehicle.

LITTLE FALLS—A 60-year-old Pequot Lakes man died after suffering medical issues while driving Wednesday and crashing his vehicle.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported Thomas H. Ustruck was traveling south on Highway 10 in Morrison County. Ustruck had medical issues causing him to drive off the highway numerous times.

The Altima crossed the median driving the wrong way, then re-entered the Highway 10 median, continuing south in the median between the Highway 10 overpass bridges, the state patrol reported. The Altima then descended the concrete embankment to Greyhound Road, where it struck a guardrail.

Ustruck was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, reported at 2:59 p.m.

The Morrison County Sheriff's Office assisted the state patrol at the scene.
