Vehicles collide with 2 draft horses on roadway: 3 people injured

Three people were hurt Monday night when the vehicles they were in collided with two draft horses on Highway 371, south of Fort Ripley.

FORT RIPLEY—Three people were hurt Monday night when the vehicles they were in collided with two draft horses on Highway 371, south of Fort Ripley.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported a Kia Optima and a Hyundai Elantra were both traveling south on Highway 371 when they collided with the horses on the roadway. Kristen K. Mrozek, 32, Randall, driving the Kia, and David A. Lange, 62, Baxter, driving the Hyundai, and his passenger Josephine M. Lange, 62, Baxter all suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to area hospitals. Mrozek was taken to St. Cloud Hospital and the Langes were taken to St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls.

The Morrison County Sheriff's Office, Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office and Gold Cross assisted the state patrol at the scene.
