The annual Pine River Parade of Lights event will be Saturday, Dec. 9.
The Pine River American Legion will kick off the event with Lunch (and photos) with Santa from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free horse-drawn wagon rides will be available from noon to 2 p.m. in the Legion parking lot. The Pine River Market Square farmers and crafters market will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Warehouse.
Parade lineup will start at 4 p.m. at First Lutheran Church with the parade at 5 p.m. The parade theme is "Broadway Lights" celebrating Broadway shows. Pine River Chamber of Commerce gift certificates worth $100 will be awarded for Best Use of Lights in theme and Overall Best Use of Lights.
After the parade, an open house at the Pine River Chamber Information Center will include free hot chocolate, hot apple cider and Christmas cookies. The First Lutheran Church youth group will sell hot dogs and nachos. A yuletide bonfire will be just outside the depot and information center.
At 6:30 p.m., there will be a fireworks display behind Pine River State Bank.
