PR-B Community Education offers various classes

• Bookkeeping for Your Small Business: 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, Pine River-Backus Media Center. Fee: $20.
The goal of this class is to enable the small business owner who is just starting or is struggling with the details of bookkeeping. Students will learn the basics of how to keep track of business expenses, what business expenses are, etc., without spending an inordinate amount of time and effort to do so. A system that organizes business activities without unnecessary busywork can be created for every person and business.
Gayle S. Wagner, licensed certified public accountant, will be the instructor.
• Standing Guard - Protect What You've Worked For: 6:30-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16, Pine River-Backus High School Room 53. Fee: $5.
This class will be of most interest to those nearing or in retirement. It will discuss key risks to retirement income and investments and explore key ways and strategies to address those risks.
Instructor will be Bruce Meade, financial adviser at Edward Jones.
• Critter Pots: 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, Pine River-Backus Elementary School Room 34. Fee: $5.
Knead a mixture into a critter. It will take a week to dry before painting. Sign up for a class that has paint to finish your creation.
Instructor will be Mary Jo Litke.
• Bedazzling Beads: 3-5:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, Pine River-Backus High School Room 255. Fee: $5.
Use beads to make jewelry, snakes, lizards, key chains and magnets.
Instructor will be Amber Haegele.
