Chokecherry Festival to celebrate 10 years Aug. 5

Saturday, Aug. 5, marks the 10th annual Chokecherry Festival in Trailside Park in Pequot Lakes.

From the chokecherry culinary contest, pit spitting contest and back-seat driver game to children's activities, crafters and food vendors, the day and evening is packed with opportunities for food and fun.

This year the Pequot Lakes Fire Department also celebrates 100 years with a street dance that night. Live music will start at 6 p.m. featuring Muddy Waters Band and then the Wyld Ryce Band will perform. There will be food vendors, beer garden and dancing.
