Browser: Library is a busy place in summer
Friends and neighbors,
As the years roll by I find myself more and more grateful for the warmth of early summer. June is gone and I have not written for a while.
There have been some programs at the library that I have enjoyed. I have had visitors from Iowa who stopped by just to say hello. There are pictures of us posted on my Facebook page.
The children from the Pequot book club came for a visit for their first meeting at our library. They were reading the story of Dewey, the library cat, and they wanted to visit a library cat in person, so to speak.
Muriel and I told the story of my arrival at the old library. Such a nostalgic time for me! They also discussed Dewey's book. As always, I enjoyed the visit from a group of children.
Many of you have used the regional library website in the past. It has a new face. Visit krls.org. The site is still a work in progress but is up and running.
There have been calls here at our Pine River Public Library about the Summerfest annual book sale. We have scheduled it for July 28-30. I will write more about it later, but I'm certain you will all want to know the dates.
I hope you are all enjoying this lovely time of year with the blooming flowers and beginnings of vegetables in the garden. Don't forget to drop by our library and say hello.
