Plans are under way for Heritage Group North's third annual Tea at the Station at the Historic Pine River Depot.

This year's three-course high tea will be held from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, with the theme "Buttons and Bows." A program featuring a vintage button display from the collection of Pine River pioneer Mrs. Francis Allen will be one of the highlights, as will excerpts from the upcoming Volume II of "Heritage, A History of Women from the Pine River Area."

Hats and gloves are welcome. The event will include prizes and surprises.

An additional highlight of this year's tea will be the raffle of a quilt created from vintage quilt blocks belonging to Colleen Moser. Local women assembled the quilt.

The quilt will be on display at the annual Pie on Park event Friday, July 31, in Pine River. Tickets for the quilt are $1. The drawing will be held at the Sept. 3 tea.

Tickets are $25 per person (a tax-deductible donation), and the event is expected to sell out. For tickets, call Alison Stephens at 480-747-2299 or 218-587-2583. Checks can be made out to Heritage Group North and mailed to P.O. Box 520, Pine River, MN 56474.

Tea at the Station, A Petticoat Junction Function, is Heritage Group North's primary fundraiser each year with all proceeds supporting the upkeep and maintenance of Pine River's Historic, National Registry Status, Depot. Heritage Group North is the all-volunteer organization responsible for saving and restoring Pine River's Depot.
