Chef's Hat recipe: Green Beans with Cherry Tomatoes

1 pound green beans, ends trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces

1 1/2 cups water

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon sugar

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil

2 cups cherry tomato halves

Place beans and water into a saucepan. Cook beans by either steaming them or boiling. Cook just until beans are slightly soft. The beans should still have a bit of firmness in them.

Place the oil in a medium size skillet and heat up to medium heat. Stir in sugar, salt, pepper, paprika and basil.

Add tomatoes and cook, stirring gently just until soft, 3-5 minutes. Pour the tomato mixture over the green beans, and toss gently to blend. Serve immediately.
