Hosking to perform Grassroots Concerts Oct. 13 in Nisswa
Rita Hosking will make her series debut for the Grassroots Concerts at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at the Live Well Night Club and Coffee Bar in Nisswa.
Hosking is a California-based country-folk singer who tells stories through her music.
She has a bachelor's degree in religious studies with a minor in cultural anthropology from the University of California, Davis.
Her music is an amalgamation of her university studies, teaching experience, motherhood and the humanity that has moved her since her childhood.
Hosking won the 2008 Dave Carter Memorial Songwriting Contest at the Sisters Folk Festival, was a finalist in the 2009 Telluride Music Festival Troubadour Contest and was recognized with honors in the International Songwriting Contest and West Coast Songwriters Association.

Concert general admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12 with listening attention when accompanied by an adult. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
At each concert, non-perishable food and cash donations are welcomed for local food shelves.
The Live Well Night Club and Coffee Bar is located at the Journey Church, 5459
County Road 18, next to the school in Nisswa.
The all-volunteer Grassroots Concerts is a 501c3 nonprofit under the Internal
