Legacy Chorale to kick off season at Breezy Point Resort
The Legacy Chorale of Greater Minnesota will kick off its 16th season by presenting "Autumn in New Orleans," a night of jazz and fine cuisine, scheduled from 5-8:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at Breezy Point Resort.
Executive Chef Tom Johnson designed a New Orleans style multi-course menu, including appetizers of andouilles beignets with bearnaise sauce and crab cakes with sauce remoulade, amuse-bouche of deviled egg with tasso ham, mustard cream and chiffonade of greens, grilled peach and spinach salad, an entrée of fig-stuffed pork tenderloin and berry desserts.
Tickets are $65 and include dinner, entertainment provided by a Dixieland Band, Legacy Chorale singers performing jazz favorites and Blues Brothers impersonators.
The Legacy Chorale features 60-plus singers from 19 greater Minnesota communities.
Members of the chorale come from varied backgrounds and professions, gather weekly for rehearsals from mid-August through May, and perform a trio of concerts twice a year throughout greater Minnesota with at least one concert performed each fall and spring at Tornstrom Auditorium in Brainerd.
The chorale has been invited to perform at numerous area events and with the Lakes Area Music Festival and the Heartland Symphony Orchestra.
