Crowds flock to Crosslake Days

Crowds of people flocked to Crosslake last weekend for the city's annual Crosslake Days.

Businesses had long lines of eager chili tasters during the chili cook-off. Judges Todd Lyscio, Lance Swanson, Mandy Mitchell and student Huck Heggerston awarded Riverside Saloon & Eatery first place, followed by BlackRidgeBANK in second and Grand Champion Meats in third. All judges represented Crosslake Community School.

Whistling Wolf & Dark Moon Mini Golf took first place in the People's Choice awards, followed by RiverWood Bank in second and Crosslake Evangelical Free Church in third. More than 500 people voted.

Maddison, Logan and Brodie Olson found the missing chili pepper at Whistling Wolf & Dark Moon Mini Golf after figuring out the code to unlock it.

The following People's Choice awards were given to car show entrants: Pete Swift, best tractor - 1949 Cockshutt Model 30; Bill Pauly, best truck - 1929 Ford AR Haywagon; Vern Wickman, best motorcycle - 1912-15 Harley Davidson Originals; Fancey Nancy Chase, best car - 1953 Chevrolet Bel Air.
