Residents and tourists welcomed the upcoming change in seasons Saturday, Sept. 16, at the 44th annual Nisswa Fall Festival, which also featured 21 teams competing in the 12th annual Smokin' Hot BBQ Contest.

The Wooden family found the hidden medallion in the flower bed at the Nisswa Fire Hall after clue No. 3 was posted. The family won $100.

Following are Smokin' Hot BBQ Contest results: first, winning $700, State Farm, Jake Brandt from Brainerd; second, winning $450, Bully BBQ from Staples; third, winning $215, Big Al's Ghetto Hogs from Blaine; fourth, winning $100, B&B Nelson BBQ from Brainerd.

State Farm-Jake Brandt also won the VIP vote. Center City Swine won the General Eating vote.
