Some 80 motorcyclists made the Backus American Legion one of their stops in the seventh annual Leech Lake Area Ride for Vets on Saturday, Aug. 19.

The ride, which raises funds for veterans, including those wounded in service, originated at the Walker American Legion Post and stopped at a number of area veterans posts before returning to Walker.

It was one of four Ride for Vets in the area and there were more around the state.
