Pine River held its annual Parade of Lights amidst chilly winds Saturday, Dec. 10, but that didn't stop children and families from enjoying the festivities.

Events started with the Pine River American Legion Lunch with Santa, where children waited in line for a photo and goodie bag from Santa. After dark, the festivities were aglow with parade floats adorned with lights.

Among the noteworthy floats was a school bus with jolly old Santa perched on top. Awards were later given to Pine River Dental Arts for Best Lighted Parade Unit In Theme. Cass County Paws and Claws 4-H club won Best Overall Use of Lights.

After the parade a roaring bonfire kept spectators warm outside of the Information Center, where people gathered for hot chocolate and cookies before a fireworks show brought the night to a close.
