Robert and Lynn Halbrook will present Stately Spirits, a presentation about the most renowned haunted places in Minnesota, at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at the Pine River Public Library. This free program is recommended for ages 10 and up.
The Pequot Lakes Community Carnival is set for 4-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at Eagle View Elementary School. Admission is free.
Tickets will be sold for food, raffle baskets, balloons and Water Wars.
Church Street Challenge
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul will sponsor the second annual Friends of the Poor Walk on Saturday, Sept. 30, in Nisswa to benefit those in need in local communities.
The Church Street Challenge, a 1.5-mile walk, will begin at 1 p.m. in the St. Christopher's Catholic Church parking lot in Nisswa and end in the same location. Registration will begin at 12:30 p.m.
Lutefisk, meatball supper
Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes will host its annual Lutefisk and Meatball Supper starting at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30. The Scandinavian meal includes lutefisk with cream or butter, rutabagas, potatoes, meatballs, lefse and pie.
Tickets for adults are $15 in advance, $18 at the door; children ages 5-12 are $6 in advance, $8 at the door; and children 4 and younger eat for free.
