Golf leagues-Oct. 3, 2013

Crosswoods Ladies League

Sandy Melberg won the low net game of the day with a 68 in 18-hole play Monday, Sept. 23, with the Crosswoods Ladies Leage.

Georgi Ashlin was second with 71.

On Wednesday, Sept. 25, Renee Aden took first in the low net game of the day with a 30 in nine-hole play.

Lila Kersey and Cheryl Fraser tied for second with a score of 32.

Ashlin had a birdie on hole 15 and Aden on hole 14.

Whitefish Men’s League

Steve Ogren finished off the Whitefish Golf Club Men’s League season in style Sept. 24 by carding a net 33 on the front nine for a first flight Nassau along with Bob Beatty, who fired a back nine 34, and Jim Rauenhorst, who carded a net 71.

Fred Skog (front nine 31), Greg Jorvig (back nine 35) and Steve Holubar (65) were the second flight winners.

John Kropp (front nine 33), Bill Donovan (back nine 34) and Jim Postelwaite (70) captured the third flight titles.

Duane Ambuehl and Skog made the longest putts. Greg Cheek and John Farrell were closest to the pin winners.

Holes in one

Joe DeGrood of Mankato aced the 145-yard sixth hole at Crosswoods Golf Course in Crosslake on Sunday, Sept. 29, using a 5-iron.

Don Zebinski, Winnipeg, Manitoba, aced the 121-yard eighth hole of the Dutch Legacy at Cragun’s Legacy Courses Sept. 27 using a pitching wedge.
