ATV safety training scheduled in Crosby

The Cuyuna Iron Range Riders ATV/OHV club will host an ATV safety training class for youth 11 or older at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 18, at the Ironton American Legion.

The certificate is valid when students turn 12. Students who complete the classroom and field test will be able to ride an ATV over 90cc.

Pre-registration is required as class size is limited. Cost is $15 paid online after completion of class.

Before attending the class, students must complete an independent study course. The CD rom course is available free of charge through the DNR Information Center at 888-646-6367 and the Enforcement Safety Training office at 800-366-8917.

Or visit the DNR website at and click on “education” and “safety training.”

Students must “fit” the machine, provide their own ATV (with reverse), helmet, goggles and ankle covering shoes for the field training.
