Funding available to eradicate buckthorn invasive plants

Private landowners in Crow Wing County are eligible for grant funds to eradicate buckthorn plants. Up to $10,000 is available from the Crow Wing Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) to pay for supplies.

Call the SWCD Office at 218-828-6197 to sign up for grant funds to eradicate buckthorn on your property.

The leaves of buckthorn are oval with smooth edges and glossy surfaces.

Grant funds are available to Crow Wing County residents to eradicate buckthorn. Funding is available on a first-come first-served basis and technical assistance to design an eradication plan is available.
