PL boys 3rd, girls 4th at DL

The Pequot Lakes Patriots were third in the boys’ competition and fourth in the girls’ standings at the Detroit Lakes Invitational on Friday, May 2.

Bemidji won the boys’ title with 168, followed by Detroit Lakes with 109 and the Patriots with 94. The Lakers won the girls title with 150.5 while Pequot Lakes had 78.

Individual winners for the Patriots were the 4x100-meter relay of Chase Blaeser, C.J. Borleis, Cole Funk and Tyler Tappe; Tappe in the pole vault; Funk in the long jump, Travis Jacobson in the shot put; and Keegan Johnson in the discus.

Finishing first for the Pequot Lakes girls were Chloe Bermel in the 100 dash and the 4x100 relay of Rachel Allen, Grace McGuire, Sarah Rudlang and Bermel.

Pequot Lakes is scheduled to host the Mid-State Conference meet on Tuesday, May 13.
