Numerous records were set in Pequot Lakes 100-68 girls' basketball loss

to New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva in the Class AA state

quarterfinals on Wednesday, March 19, at Mariucci Arena in Minneapolis.

The Panthers senior guard Carlie Wagner, who will play for the

University of Minnesota Gophers next season, broke her own state

tournament record with 53 points. She had set the previous record twice

at state - scoring 50 points in last year's championship game win over

Braham and netting 48 points the previous year in a third-place win over

the Patriots, who finish 23-7.

Pequot Lakes did keep the game close in the first half, but Wagner

stayed hot in the second half with 27 points and the win. The Patriots

were led in scoring by Kayla Miller with 25 points and Vanessa Lane and

Katie White both with 19.
