Tigers fall to Rangers

The Crosby-Ironton Rangers girls’ basketball team defeated the Pine River-Backus Tigers 64-32 in a non-conference game on Wednesday, Feb. 26.

Meredith Silgren had 16 points and Shannon Lundgren grabbed 13 rebounds for C-I. Megan Felthous had 16 points for the Tigers.

PR-B, which ends the regular season 17-8 overall, is seeded third in the North Subsection 5A playoffs and will host No. 6 Menahga at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 6.

Felthous led all scorers with 24 points, and also grabbed 15 rebounds, as PR-B won its seventh straight game, defeating visiting the Northland-Remer Eagles on Senior Night on Tuesday, Feb. 25.

Senior Journee Howard had five points and grabbed 11 rebounds while Megan Porta finished with 14 points for PR-B.

Junior varsity loses

The PR-B junior varsity girls’ basketball team lost to Northland of Remer 43-19 on Tuesday, Feb. 25.

Emma Mills had a team-high 10 points while Taylor Kaczkowski, Emma Templeton, Sophia Stewart and Alyssa Semmler had two and Baily Wynn one for the Tigers, who are 10-14 overall.
