Patriots' JV teams compete

The Pequot Lakes junior varsity girls’ basketball team defeated Bagley 56-10 on Thursday, Feb. 20.

The Patriots assumed 38-2 lead in the first half, and eventually led 42-6 at the half.

Jessica Faacks had a game-high 11 points for Pequot Lakes while Barb Miller had nine, Lohmiller and Laura Squires each had seven and Sam Littman six.

On Feb. 17, the Patriots defeated Detroit Lakes 49-38 as Littman had 15 points, Corina Ruud nine, Faacks eight and Squires six.

Also against Detroit Lakes, the Pequot Lakes’ C-team won 39-36 as Elsa Headlee, Chloe Bermel and lyndsey Johnson each had eight points, Quinn Kratochvol had six and Mallory Goerges five.

JV boys fall to Perham

The Pequot Lakes junior varsity boys’ basketball team lost to Perham 62-54 on Tuesday, Feb. 18. The Patriots fell behind 9-0, but rallied for a 17-12 lead and then led 25-23 at intermission. They trailed by as much as 14 points at times in the second half before rallying.

Gage Westlund scored 13 points to lead Pequot Lakes while Josh Buell had 12, Brandon Hehir 10 and Hunter Goerges seven.

The Pequot Lakes’ C-team was tied 25-25 at the half before eventually losing 55-41.

Erik Sandelin led the Patriots with 18 points, including going eight for eight at the free-throw line.
