Flying Aces shut out North Stars

The Minnesota Flying Aces shut out the Breezy Point North Stars 4-0 in North American Tier III Junior hockey on Saturday, Dec. 7, at Breezy Point Arena.

The Aces scored twice in the second and third periods to win. AJ Gullickson and Jake Mullendore tallied in the second period while Mullendore and Eric Cruickshank scored in the third period.

Winning goaltender Mike Stumpf stopped 30 shots while Breezy Point netminder Joey Bergquist turned aside 34 shots, including a penalty shot in the third period.

The North Stars are scheduled to play at Wisconsin on Friday, Dec. 13, and Saturday, Dec. 14. Breezy Point will then return home to face Twin City Steel at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, at Breezy Point Arena.
