North Stars lose twice

The Breezy Point North Stars were edged by Twin City Steel 2-1 in overtime on Friday, Nov. 15, and outscored 6-1 by the Granite City Lumberjacks on Saturday, Nov. 16.

The North Stars, who fall to 3-14-2 overall, are scheduled to play at the Sugarland Imperials on Friday, Nov. 22, and then at the Cleveland Junior Lumberjacks on Saturday, Nov. 23.

Against Twin City, Breezy Point tied it 1-1 with a goal at 18:41 of the third period when Jason Pischke scored on the power play, assisted by Scott Schneider and Austin Williams. The Steel then won in overtime when Tony Arias scored at 1:16 of the extra session.

Winning goaltender Jackson Germaine made 28 saves while losing netminder Joey Bergquist turned aside 33 shots.

In the loss to the Lumberjacks, the North Stars fell behind 5-0 before Kyle Eberwein tallied on the power play for Breezy Point, assisted by Chris Hjorth and Ryan Bittner. Goaltender Scott Murray had 22 saves while Bergquist stopped 38 shots.
