Breezy Point North Stars defeated by Steel, Bulls

The Breezy Point North Stars were defeated by Twin City Steel 6-3 on Friday, Oct. 18, and also lost to the North Iowa Bulls on Saturday, Oct. 19, in Tier III junior hockey action.

The North Stars, 2-9-1 overall, are scheduled to host the Granite City Lumberjacks on Friday, Oct. 25, and also the Minnesota Flying Aces on Sunday, Oct. 27.

Against the Steel, Jace Childs had three goals and Emil Bloomquist added two against the North Stars. Benji Smieja, Chris Hjorth and Scott Schroeder each scored for Breezy Point.

Winning goaltender Tom Terrance stopped 24 shots while Joey Bergquist turned aside 26 shots.

Against North Iowa, Rich Marenis scored twice for the Bulls while winning netiminder Chris Amsden stopped 32 shots to earn the shut out.

Breezy Point goaltender Matt Memolo stopped 42 shots.
