North Stars split with Aces

The Breezy Point North Stars split with the Little Falls Flying Aces last weekend – winning 6-4 on Friday, Oct. 4, at home and losing 2-1 on Saturday, Oct. 5, at Little Falls in a North American Tier III hockey league game.

The North Stars, 2-5-1 overall, are scheduled to host the Alexandria Blizzard at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, at Breezy Point Arena.

On Oct. 5, Billy Foy scored with an assist from Bo Borowski in the third period while Joey Bergquist stopped 35 of 37 shots he faced for the North Stars.

On Oct. 4, Russel Barone netted a goal and two assists for Breezy Point. Also scoring goals for the North Stars were Benji Smieja, Billy Foy, Kyle Whipple, Ludwig Adamsen and Kyle Eberwein.

Troy Pierce had 34 saves in net for the North Stars, who outshot the Aces 51-34.
