North Stars lose twice

The Breezy Point North Stars were defeated by Granite City 8-1 on Friday, Sept. 27, in St. Cloud, and then lost at home to Alexandria 8-5 on Saturday, Sept. 28, in a pair of Tier III junior hockey games.

The North Stars, 1-5 overall, host the Minnesota Flying Aces at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, and then play the Flying Aces on Saturday, Oct. 5, in Little Falls.

Against Granite City, Austin Williams cut the deficit to 2-1 with a goal for Breezy Point. Goalie Joey Bergquist turned aside 25 shots for the North Stars.

Against Alexandria, Kyle Whipple, Russell Barone, Blake Neumann, Bo Borowski and Scott Schroeder all scored for the Breezy Point. Bergquist stopped 37 shots in the loss.
