Patriots' girls' MPV returns for cross country team

The Pequot Lakes boys’ cross country team has seven letterwinners while the girls have six this fall.

“We’re looking forward to another successful season with more than 60 runners,” said Pequot Lakes coach Jon Dale. “We should be competitive in both Mid-State and Section 8AA competition.”

Letterwinners for the boys are Grant Moe, Nick Leifeld, RJ Maxfield, Shawn Gerdes, Daulton Engholm, Connor Dale and Reid Pierzinski.

Other runners include Matt Hanson, Sam Wallace, Chris Harman, Josh Buell, Levi Palmer, Karl Brine-Doyle, Jacob Tschida, Tony FItzer, Marty Fitzer, Cam Boller, Hunter Larson, Noah Kronstedt, Seth Golden, Isaac Allen and Brett Peterson.

Letterwinners for the girls are Sarah Rudlang, Caitie Ryan, Jackie Brine-Doyle, Leric Larson, Elsa Headlee and Alyssa Young

Ryan was chosen most valuable girls’ runner last fall after earning All-Mid-State and Birch Tree conference honors. Larson, Brine-Doyle and Headlee were also Birch Tree all-conference while Larson and Brine-Doyle were Mid-State honorable mention.

Other girls are Bridget Erickson, Megan Glover, Colleen Tschida, Macy Dotty, Hailey Millner, Jessica Faacks and Katie Casanova.

Anna Larson and Brett Dale are assistant coaches for Jon Dale, who is starting his 14th year as head coach.
