Grunewald sets Crosslake Dam Run course record

Justin Grunewald of Minneapolis, formerly of Crosslake, set a men’s 10K course record at the 32nd annual Crosslake Dam Run on Saturday, Aug. 3, with a time of 31:28.

The 5K and 10K attracted 217 registered runners. Both races are U.S. Track and Field Certified for accurate distances. Both races start and finish at the Town Square in Crosslake.

5K winners were Chris Hagen from Little Falls for the men with a time of 17:16 and Kelly Kieran from Chanhassen for the women with a time of 17:34.

The female 10K winner was Sasha Hovind from Stirum, N.D., with a time of 39:32.

Trophies were awarded to the men and women winners in each race. Awards were given to the first three finishers in each 10-year age group. In addition to the awards, prizes were awarded to the participants by a drawing after the race.
