The Pine River-Backus Booster Club hosted its annual golf tournament at Black Bear Golf Complex on Sunday, July 28. A total of 18 teams played and the three winning teams were Corner Store in first at 12 under par, Paul’s Large Garage was second place at 11 under, and Salty Dog took third with a score of 10 under.

The Booster Club thanks all the teams that played, the hole sponsors for their support, the Black Bear Golf Complex for hosting the tournament, and area businesses for donating prizes. The Booster Club raises money through events throughout the year to support growth and opportunities for Pine River-Backus K-12 grade students through extracurricular activities. In the last year the Booster Club donated almost $9,000 to the various sports, drama, choir and band activities of PR-B.

The PR-B Booster Club meets the first Monday of every month at 6 p.m., and is always in need of additional help. Other opportunities to help support the Booster Club include the homecoming tailgate before the homecoming football game and the turkey sandwich supper during basketball season.
