Funds raised to buy accessible golf cart
The lakes area golf community has a new accessible golf cart ready for use.
Thanks to the Crosslake-Ideal Lions, the membership at Crosswoods Golf Course, individual donations and area business contributions, funds were raised to purchase a new Solorider golf cart to serve the local golf community.
The unique design of the Solorider cart has a swivel seat, electric lift, hand controls and automatic parking brake, and it is light enough to be driven on a green with no damage.
According to Mobilitygolf.com, only five golf courses in Minnesota have a accessible golf carts available for use.
“The great thing about this cart is that it is available to the entire lakes area golf community. It has a trailer and can be requested for use anywhere in the local area,” said Mike Stone, fundraiser coordinator and owner of Crosswoods Golf Course in Crosslake.
The Golf Fore Life Scramble and silent auction capped off the fundraising Drive, which ultimately raised more than $11,000 for the cart and trailer.
