Nisswa Legion sweeps Princeton

The visiting Nisswa American Legion swept Princeton by scores of 9-2 and 9-4 in doubleheader action on Thursday, June 27.

Nisswa was 6-3 overall before playing a doubleheader at Grand Rapids on Monday, July 1. Nisswa is scheduled to host Cloquet at 5 p.m. on Monday, July 8.

In the opener at Princeton, Connor Gessell was 3-for-4 with two RBI to lead Nisswa. Drew Sannes picked up the pitching win. Sannes, Gessel and Logan Jones each had doubles.

In the nightcap, Connor Gessell mashed a solo home run and teammate TJ Graumann added two hits for Nisswa. Derek Knoll was the winner.

Sartell 4, Nisswa 1

Sannes was 3-4 as visiting Nisswa fell to Sartell 4-1 on Tuesday, June 25. Logan McElfresh was tagged with the loss. Sartell enjoyed a 7-5 edge in hits, although Nisswa committed six errors.
