Nisswa Legion plays at St. Cloud tournament

The Nisswa Legion won one of three games at the St. Cloud Chutes tournament over the weekend. Nisswa defeated Marshall 8-6 and lost to Willmar 3-1 on Saturday, June 22, and lost to the Chutes 7-1 on Thursday, June 20. Tournament games on Sunday, June 23, were rained out.

On Saturday, Nate DeChaine combined to go 4-for-7 with two doubles and three RBI for both games. Against Marshall, Conor Gessell scored twice while Logan Jones was 2-5 with two runs scored and an RBI. Drew Sannes doubled and had three RBI while DeChaine was 2-3.

Beau Janousek pitched 3.1 innings in relief to get the win. He allowed five hits and one earned run.

Against Willmar, Dillon Solid took the loss despite pitching a complete game. He allowed just five hits and no earned runs. Sannes was 2-3 while DeChaine was 2-4.

Drew Sannes, Logan McElfresh and Logan Jones each had singles for Nisswa against the Chutes. Sannes was tagged with the pitching loss. St. Cloud enjoyed a 7-3 edge in hits.

Nisswa, 4-2 overall, was scheduled to play at Sartell on Tuesday, June 25.
