Lightning gain sole possession of first place


Luke Schumer drove in four runs while Drew Boland doubled twice as the Nisswa Lightning gained sole possession of first place in the North Division with an 11-1 win over Holdingford on Sunday, June 16.

Jason Roepke was 2-for-5 with a double for Nisswa, which moved one-half game ahead of idle Fort Ripley in the division race.

Lincoln Messner pitched six shutout innings, giving up just three hits and four walks with six strikeouts, for the victory.
