PR-B/PL trap shoot team takes 19th at state tournament

The Pine River-Backus/Pequot Lakes High School varsity trap shoot team placed 19th at the state tournament last weekend.

The team was represented in all three categories: novice, junior varsity and varsity.

Five shooters were necessary to comprise a “team score” and there were 73 total teams at the state tournament with Pine River-Backus/Pequot Lakes faring among the best of area teams.

Logan Kangas, a PR-B senior, was the top gun for the PR-B/PL team, shooting 95 out of 100 clay pigeons for a seventh-place finish at the varsity state tournament.
