Patriots win pair of Class A state track titles


Pequot Lakes’ junior Vanessa Lane captured the 100-meter dash title while the Patriots’ 4x100 relay finished first at the Class A state track and field meet on Friday and Saturday, June 7-8, at Hamline University. Lane won the 100 dash in 12.53 seconds. She also joined Rachel Allen, Chloe Bermel and Abby Palmer in winning the 4x100 relay in 49.54 seconds. The Patriots’ Tyler Tappe finished second in the pole vault, and tied for the Class A meet record with a vault of 15 feet, 6 inches.
