PL boys 9th at section meet

The Pequot Lakes Patriots finished ninth at the Section 6AA boys’ golf meet on Monday, June 3, at Blackberry Ridge in Sartell.

The Patriots did not qualify as one of the final four teams on the second day, which had play reduced to nine holes because of steady rain.

The top Pequot Lakes’ score on Monday was an 83 by Kevin Beltz.

The final team scores after 27 holes was Staples-Motley, who advances to state after combining for 464, Albany with 486, St. Cloud Cathedral 488 and Becker 497.

Advancing to the state as individuals were Wesley Dickhaus (Melrose) 111, Jordan LeClair (Albany) 114, Logan Konop (Rocori) 116, David Schneider (Albany) 117 and Billy Dingmann (Becker) 118.

Patriots 9th at Cragun’s

Ethan Neitzke’s 88 and Trenton Beyer’s 89 led Pequot Lakes to ninth place at the Cardinal Invitational at Cragun’s Legacy Courses on Wednesday, May 29. The Patriots combined for a score of 371 while Staples-Motley was first with 302.

Team scores: 1-Staples-Motley 302, 2-St. Cloud Cathedral 322, 3-Rocori 326, 4-Anandale 335, 5-Brainerd and Albany 338, 7-Melrose 339, 8-Pierz 364, 9-Pequot Lakes 371
