Two PR-B athletes advance to state

Two Pine River-Backus athletes advanced to state competition in their sports on Thursday, May 30.

Golfer Cody Mager will return to the Class A state golf tournament after carding an 82 as the top individual not on the winning Mahnomen team at the Section 6A meet.

The Tigers’ Megan Porta finished second in the discus event at the Section 6A track and field meet, thus qualifying for the Class A state meet on June 7-8.
