Savannah Stone leads Patriot golfers

Savannah Stone earned medalist honors with a round of 77 to help Pequot Lakes win the Wadena-Deer Creek Invitational on Thursday, May 23.

Stone’s teammate Maggie Heggerston and Staples-Motley’s Emily Israelson tied for second place with 78s. Pequot Lakes was scheduled to play at the St. Cloud Cathedral Invitational on Wednesday, May 29.

Team scores: 1-Pequot Lakes 334, 2-Bemidji 351, 3-Wadena-Deer Creek 369, 4-Staples-Motley 377, 5-Moorhead 396, 6-Crosby-Ironton 460, 7-Park Rapids 472, 8-United North Central inc.

Patriots 2nd at DL

Stone posted a 70 for medalist honors and led Pequot Lakes to second place at the nine-team Detroit Lakes Invitational on Tuesday, May 21.

Heggerston carded a 74 for the second-best Patriots’ score on the par 64 Lakeview Executive Course.
